The Shop

The shop is located by the main reception desk at Kempston Road entrance and offers a range of gifts, cards, message balloons, newspapers, magazines, soft toys, groceries and toiletries. The shop is open from 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday. On weekends, the shop is open from 2pm to 6pm, with confectionary, drinks and weekend papers available to buy in the Swannery restaurant from 9am.

BumpsnBabes Store

BumpsnBabes is a family run baby shop is situated in the entrance of the Cygnet Wing at Bedford Hospital. The shop sells everything you may need during your stay in the maternity unit such as tiny baby clothing, gifts, equipment, teddy bears, toiletries, nappies, baby toiletries, nursing pillows and a wide range of baby products. Cash Machine

There is a LINK cash machine located at the Kempston Road entrance of Bedford Hospital. This machine will not charge you for making withdrawals.

Patient Gardens

There are three patient gardens on the Trust site for patients and visitors to relax in and enjoy. Please ask the ward clerk or receptionist for the closest garden.

Chapel

The hospital chapel is in the main corridor near to the Kempston Road entrance. It is open 24 hours a day, and can be used by patients, relatives/carers and staff as a place of quiet, prayer and reflection. Chaplaincy

Prayer Room

Bedford Hospital has a Muslim prayer room which is open to all staff, patients and visitors. The prayer room is located adjacent to the chapel, near the Swannery and is run by the Imam: Imam Irshad Ali, who is a volunteer at Bedford Hospital and has over 15 years' experience as an Imam. Hospicom Patient Communication

It is now possible for you to contact your relative or friend during their stay in hospital through the Hospicom service provided by HTS Ltd. This service is available with most wards and allows you personal and private communication with your friend, relative or loved one at any time of the day.

The Swannery

The Swannery is the main restaurant on site and is located along the main corridor, near the Kempston Road entrance to the hospital. The Swannery is open from 7am-8pm Monday-Friday, and from 9am-5pm on the weekend. The Swannery offers a range of hot meals, hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, and snacks. Children’s portions and highchairs are also available.

Le Bistro

Le Bistro is the hospital café which is situated along the main corridor, opposite The Swannery. Le Bistro offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to enjoy a hot or cold drink, continental pastries, filled baguettes, soups or the ‘hot dish of the day’ Le Bistro is open from 8.45am to 4pm.

Vending Machines

There are vending machines offering snacks, sandwiches and hot and cold drinks located outside the outpatients department, and outside the lifts to the main ward block. There also some coffee machines available in outpatients clinics.
