Our Chief Executive

Joe Harrison joined Bedford Hospital as chief executive on February 1, 2011.

Prior to joining Bedford, Joe was deputy chief executive at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. In this role, which he took up in 2007, Joe was responsible for the delivery of patient services across the North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, which provides acute hospital services to the residents of the boroughs of Enfield and Haringey.

Prior to working at North Middlesex, Joe was director of performance and planning at University College London Foundation Trust, where he was responsible for the performance framework across the multi-hospital trust and was part of the team that secured first wave NHS Foundation Trust status for UCLH. He also worked in senior management roles at Barts and The London NHS Trust and at North West London Hospitals NHS Trust.
