What is membership?

Becoming a member of Bedford Hospital is an easy, practical way for you to show you care about the services we provide and have a say in how your local hospital is run; it provides the opportunity to help shape and develop future services. Anyone over 16, living in Bedford Borough or Central Bedfordshire can apply to become a member and we currently have over 6,200 members of the Trust – join them and show you care about the services we provide!

The benefits of becoming a member

As a member you will:

  • Receive newsletters and updates about the hospital’s activities;
  • Receive invitations to members’ meetings and governors’ forums;
  • Be able to elect the governors;
  • Be eligible to stand for election as a governor;
  • Have direct access to members of the Council of Governors, to raise concerns and other issues.

Involvement required

You can choose to be involved as little or as much as you would like: whether you simply wish to support your local hospital, attend members’ events, or even stand for election to the Council of Governors.

Becoming a member

There are two simple ways to become a member:

Membership is free and without obligation.  Your details will be used solely for the purpose of Foundation Trust business and you can opt out at any time.
